Displaying Team Statistic using php mysql

I would love for someone to make a tutorial that would tell how to build a site for displaying baseball statistics. It would have a page that the coach can enter the stats and update them after each game and then have them displayed. I would like it so that there are some generated stats like batting average taken from the hits divided by the at bats. There are other stats but if someone is willing to make some sort of small tutorial on this subject I should be able to figure out the rest of the generated stats. I've been searching high and low to gain enough info on how to do this but I'm only able to pick up a piece here and a piece there. A one place spot to learn would be great.
