When a page with any image that has transparency, the transparency goes thru the background of the popup layer as well.

So whatever is under the popup layer shows thru.

THe specific place I am seeing this problem is popping up a layer with a google map (that has markers showing locations) the transparency for the map controls and the markers all let the underlying page show thru.

This occurs in IE6 but not FF, and not as bad in IE7. IE7 only has the problem around the map controls.

screen shot of problem available here: www.ultrawebdesign.com/dl/dmxzone1.gif

Loading the exact same page I load into the layer into the browser directly displays correctly.
Thanks
Paul

Hello Tom,
we are testing this issue. When we try to recreate this exact situation by loading google maps we cannot get this strange effect of the background showing through at the places the transparency of the images is. (this was tested in IE6 and IE7)
Can you provide us with access to that page if possible so we can proceed with testing it?
We will need this to recreate the problem and fix it.
Best regards,
DMXZone team.

I have the same problem with Opera. When a pop needs to scroll the background appears in stripes in the window.
I have not found a solution for this. I have not seen it in IE7 however.

Was this ever resolved.

I have the same problem. I have a form on my page, on that page is also a button that when clicked will give a pop up layer. Inside that layer is another form. The text fields in the pop up become transparent and show the textarea from underneath the popped up layer.

Any one know how to fix this.

I make sure there is an Horizontal scroll bar when there is a vertical one.
This seems to resolve the problem. Not the best solution but it works.
You need to watch the size of your forms as well. If the browser is not on max screen size I find you can not scroll down to the buttons in some cases.
You can not rely on the browser print button. Hit print preview and you do not see the form.
It has a lot of good uses but I am a bit careful with forms.

Was a fix for this problem ever worked out? I Could really use some help with this. I have worked out the issues in Safari by making sure the user has the latest version of flash but IE 8 in regular and compatibility view and IE7 are a real pain.

In IE go to www.tularecountyemap.com/ and click the county seal/logo.
(this link opens www.tularecountyemap.com/map.html)

When the flash loads click the tree left of "Lake Kaweah" near the middle the pop-up will open and all is still fine if you have java installed.
(this page is www.tularecountyemap.com/java/lake_kaweah-01.html)

Now click the blue globe icon to see the map and the transparency problem.
(this page is www.tularecountyemap.com/java/lake_kaweah-01map.html)

Everything works fine in FireFox and Safari.

Thanks in advance!
