Last week I was walking to the store early in the morning and suddenly a fox came out onto the path right in front of me. We stood looking at each other for about ten seconds. Then it slowly walked away into the bushes. I used to think that wildlife was somewhere in the mountains, in forests, in nature reserves, not five minutes from home. It reminded me that even in the city you can encounter something real, wild and alive. Have you ever noticed that nature is closer than it seems?Replies

Yes, there are times when nature literally comes to you. In Idaho, for example, I often see deer right by the roadside, and once a bear climbed into a neighbor's garbage can - creepy, but impressive. If you're curious about what American-style wildlife looks like and what kind of experiences you can have when you live in Idaho, check here: life in Idaho . Lots of interesting stuff about both the animals and life itself surrounded by nature.

I love stories like this. Nature is an amazing thing - it seems to be always with us, but in the hustle and bustle you often don't notice it. Sometimes you just have to leave the house and look around to see something unexpected. Even an ordinary park can bring a surprise if you don't hurry.
