Been thinking about making a browser extension that auto-fills forms for specific websites I use all the time. I’m tired of typing the same stuff over and over. I know there are apps out there already, but I want something super minimal and custom. Never made one before though — is it doable without deep coding skills?

Yeah, that’s actually a solid beginner project. I started with something similar for filling in job applications faster. It’s mostly JavaScript and some basic understanding of how the browser talks to your script. I leaned on https://5ly.co/browser-extension-development/ to figure out the folder structure and permissions — saved me a ton of time. You’ll probably run into weird bugs, but that’s part of the fun.

Kinda cool how browser extensions went from feeling like complex software to something regular folks can actually build. Makes me wonder how many handy tools never get shared because people just make them for themselves.
