Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about making fresh tortillas at home and want to invest in a tortilla machine. I’m looking for something that’s reliable, easy to clean, and doesn’t take up too much space in the kitchen.

I mostly make corn tortillas, but it’d be a bonus if the machine can handle flour too. Manual or electric—I'm open to both, as long as it delivers consistent results. Any recommendations or personal experiences?

Also, what should I watch out for when buying one? Would love to hear your thoughts before I make a purchase!

I’ve been making tortillas at home for a while, and for corn tortillas, a good cast iron manual press like the Victoria works really well—reliable, easy to clean, and compact. If you’re thinking of making flour tortillas too, you might want to look at an electric option like the Brentwood or CucinaPro, though they’re a bit bulkier. I found some helpful comparisons and reviews on tortillamakermachine.com/ that made choosing easier. Just make sure whatever you get is sturdy, has a non-stick surface, and applies even pressure. For corn, the dough consistency matters more than the machine. Overall, I’d start with a manual press and upgrade if you find yourself making them often.
