since there is no option to set specific motion for particular images I went with the random start/end position thing for a gallery of 38 images. say 80% it is working ok, however noticed that a few times the images are sort of stuck and look like stuttering/jerking.

is that caused by start/end positions are too similar/close? is there a routine in the js to avoid such situation?

Hi KM,

Sorry in the current version there is no way to specify, options per slide. All options are global.

We are looking to make a PRO version with much more options and individual per slide control. As well much more text effects.

Greetings,
George

understand about pro and all, but is your code actually having a routine build-in to avoid start/end positions near to each other or worst being the same?

Hi KM,

When you choose random start and end position for the Ken Burns effect, the slideshow just picks a star and end corner randomly. However this is a computer random function so same direction can be repeated sometimes. Usually it is not a problem because the images are different.

George

right, but there seems to be a problem and would appreciate a more straight forward reply, like yes/no about whether your code is preventing a situation where the start/end position are kind of same. because if the start/end position are close by then the image becomes not even static but displays the above described behaviour, which somehow defeats the purpose of the motion like animation this product is promoted for.

if you like and got the time you may one of my websites I have implemented and watch the 38 images through and see what happens. ooik.eu

it actually is a problem. for a static show I am using CSS Image Gallery already, but I bought this for the motion thing. if however the motion is not working then the product is not delivering - that from a customer point of view.

the update to 1.0.2 did not bring improvement on this matter

that appreciated, what I stated is a less of a question but more of a performance issue of the product. hope to hear back soon that it has been fixed.

Hi KM,

I'm having difficulty to follow you. You keep cross posting on different topics about very different things. Then also go over the place and complain you don't get speedy responses.

Please note:

* the HTML5 Slideshow is a Dreamweaver extension. This means it is intended for use in Dreamweaver. It generates code that should not be edited manually but just trough the supplied user interface.

* The HTML5 Slideshow can be controlled with the supplied Dreamweaver behaviors. They generate the needed code for all actions.

* If you file a bug please make sure you follow this guidelines: www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html

I am not cross posting, there are obviously different issues which are addressed. If the slideshow would perform properly and as advertised I would not be in the need to tweak it in order to achieve a smooth experience for the site's visitor.

By posting back such common response across the boards, after days of just deserting the forums you make me feel patronized than being valued as customer.

If you would take the time and look into my postings, if any unclear or missing just ask, instead of pointing to a 101 how to report bugs page.

it is well understood that the gui is made to work in DW only, however the code generated by it goes to the web. if you say the user has to waive its right to control the design of her/his site by using your extension then I feel it should pointed out clearly in the ToU.

now for this topic and the inital post - according to Toeodor some developer would look into, yet there is no news or better updated version to fix.

if you don not want to fix this obvious bug just make it clear and as a customer I can make up mind whether to continue your products or not

one thing is to deliver reassuring statements and the other one to actually deliver a fix.

this as well as some other bugs were reported there a month ago, still there is nothing substantial that would make for satisfactory customer care.

on the contrary it feels more like being toyed with by DMXz

Hello k m,

I think George answered your question within the two posts in the beginning of the topic.

There is no need to write the same and the same again and flooding the whole forum.

The things are as simple as they are - If there is a bug it gets fixed, as long as there is a request for a new feature - there is a section of this forum where you can post your requests.

do not concur with your statement nor do I flood the whole forum. if you cannot stand bugs being discovered and reported then just say so..

neither did George's first post fix the bug nor his second general statement about filing bugs.

instead have a look at your reply August 31st and the one from Miroslav a fortnight later.

your statement is more than incorrect, there are several bugs and none of them gets fixed but simply denied/ignored, even when reported by other users (refer to the fade effect not working in IE8 - where is the denial statement there?)

Hello,

The IE8 Fade problem is being investigated.

The other features that you are requesting in several topics should be posted into REQUEST FEATURES forum section.

As i said - this is not a bug, and there is nothing to be FIXED as nothing is broken. It's your wish the way of the images are being shown to be changed, so please post your request in the proper section.
