Hi,
I did read the manual and according to that I installed everything fine. I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 and when I tested/tried out the player in one of my sites it seemed to work well: showed up nicely on the page and played the soundfile.
When I went to the site I want to implement the player on,I ran into trouble: SoundManager 2 failed to initialize. I created a complete new clean page in Dreamweaver, without any other scripts and I uploaded it but with the same result. I checked if everything was uploaded correctly to my server and it looks it did.
Anyone there to help me? I would really like to start using it!
Kind regards,
Willem

Hi folks,
forget about the problem.
I started checking my files on the server once again and I observed that 2 flash files were not copied. Both were needed of course and their absence triggered the 'SoundManager 2 not initialized' error.
Everything is up and working again and I learned once again that you simply need to check all things twice before getting too nervous.
Bye and thanks!

Hi Willem,

Yes - I was about to suggest to check if you have uploaded everything.

Good to hear it all works.

Greetings,
George

I get an error message from my live website at:

myliferulz.com.au/song_cd_and_song_book.htm

The full error message is: "SoundManager 2 failed to initialize! Likely causes: Loading 'soundmanager2_flash9.swf' may have failed (and/or Flash not present?), Flash blocked or JS-Flash security error."

I have tested this on Firefox 4.0 and Safari 5.0.4 and I don't get the error, only in IE 8.0.7601.17514

I'm getting exactly the same error message using Firefox v4.0, IE8/9, Opera 11, Safari 5 and Google Chrome 11. However it works on my iPhone 3gs running iOS 4.3.

The live website is www.dundeecity.gov.uk/development

It runs locally in Firefox 4, but I don't get any audio...

Flash is installed on the server as it plays the following .FLV files:

www.dundeecity.gov.uk/commsafeteam/videos/

I'm running Dreamweaver 8 under Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Javascript is enabled...
