I purchased the extension with the intent on making streams available for mobile browsers that can't use flash-based players (such as iPhones). Any idea why some users keep getting a message that says "failed to initialize soundmanager2" I can't figure out why it works with some iPhone Safari browsers but not others. Blackberries are very inconsistent as well.

Stream examples:

panicstream.com/streams/istream/2010_12_30/player.html

panicstream.com/streams/istream/2010_12_31/player.html

All files have been uploaded:

panicstream.com/ScriptLibrary/

panicstream.com/Styles/

Created with
Dreamweaver CS5
Windows 7
Extension version 1.2.7

Any idea where I'm going wrong?

Hi Curtis,

Could you report more precisely on which iPhone models, running which iOS version exactly the music does not play?

Your site plays fine on my iPhone 3G with iOS 4.01

Also note that there is a "security" feature in Safari on the newer iOS that prevents the autoplay feature. It meant to allow music play only after user interaction like click.

However this is badly implemented so after page refresh usually the music starts playing anyway.

Greetings,
George

Thanks for responding.

I have about 12,000 followers on Facebook. I'll post the stream and ask to get some feedback from those that are having difficulty get it to play.

I'll be back after I get some more data.
