Hi :-)

I have created an html5 player, it looks ok though (doesn't work) I have thousands of songs in xml format that I really need to load into this player. All of the songs are uploaded to the server already.

When I created the html5 player, i uploaded and the soundmanager 2 fails to initialize and it does not play.

When clicking on a song, a new window opens and the song begins to play. This is an interesting option though I think it may confuse the client. I like the option but giving the client a choice to play and/or download would be much better...

I followed the instructions within www.dmxzone.com/go?18141&LinkFile=the_basics_basic_html5.htm though I'm on CS5 on Snow Leopard, the windows and options are very different than what your tutorial shows.

I spoke with one of your great gurus (Miro, excellent and rated as such) and he linked me to an Adobe.com tutorial for creating a Spry xml list, that can be used in conjunction with the html5 player. I thanked him and began the tutorial but the tutorial does not even mention XML at all. I'm a tad lost with this product.

I am needing to create a centralized player with an XML (absolute links) playlist hosting with www.madonnaradio.com/html5.html. I am creating this for partner sites so that they can have this player on their site, absolute links to my site (host with me and the player is an advertisement for our site). This is so that I can control the playlist song updates and share with our community.

Here is the conversation I had with Miro (pre-purchase January 21, 2011), any and all assistance is great, thank you in advance !!! - David Voila

David:
On the HTML5 MP3 Player, all of my songs are already uploaded to the server and I host about a thousand+ songs. Is the playlist in xml format and can I update the songs without messing with the player ?

hello David,
David:
Hi Miro
Support / Miro:
The play list is not in a xml format. The extension is checking the links with href="*/*.mp3" and is setting them as playable
Support / Miro:
thus if you create a play list with your files in XML format
Support / Miro:
you can use Spry Data Set and dynamically create the play list in the player
Support / Miro:
or you can use a database table in same way ...
David:
Ok, and this will work with all of the songs already uploaded to the server, using absolute links for song selection ?
David:
I have not used Spry Data Sets before so I am unsure how to create a dynamic playlist
Support / Miro:
can you create a xml file for your song on the server?
David:
I have that created already, yes
Support / Miro:
well when you creating Spry data set you appoit an xml file and it then ask you which tag to set as a table row
Support / Miro:
and the subtags became columns
David:
<title>
David:
etc...
Support / Miro:
and you can bind those on your page afterwards
David:
hmm. ok. Is there a tutorial for this ?
Support / Miro:
let me see if there is a tut.
David:
thank you.
Support / Miro:
www.adobe.com/designcenter/dreamweaver/articles/lrvid4047_dw.html
David:
Is there a tutorial for creating a dynamic mp3 player for HTML5 MP3 Player
David:
?
Support / Miro:
hold on a sec
Support / Miro:
there is but it is set with database table .. however it is pretty same.
Support / Miro:
www.dmxzone.com/go?18136#Videos
Support / Miro:
check here
David:
ok
Support / Miro:
use the previous link to create a Spry data set and then check the tutorial for the steps you need to take in order to genearte dynamic playlist on HTML5 MP# Player
David:
Ok. Thank you Miro ! I'll research this player and see what else needs to be purchased to create the player I require. Have a great day !
Support / Miro:
You are welcome.
Support / Miro:
have great day yourself.
