Ok, so here's a weird one with the HTML5 Video player. I just updated, so I am running version 1.05 of the extension.

I updated a video on my client website. The video is an MP4 and I just used the extension to insert it on the page with a jpg poster frame. It works perfectly in Chrome ver. 24 and Firefox ver. 18, but in IE 10, I get the static animated screen with the message "The requested file does not exist or is delivered with an invalid content-type.



Huh? It works perfectly in other browsers. And, when I switched IE 10 to compatibility mode, it worked.

What's with this extension and Internet Explorer??

After doing a few google searches, I see that this has cropped up before for people working with Projekktor, which I understand is the underpinnings of the HTML5 video player extension.

Further testing in IE shows:

Video works:
IE 10 compatibility mode
IE 8
... and even IE 7

Video does not work:
IE 10
IE 9

Please advise!

Ok, so now I have all 3 formats uploaded and included in my video but it still does not work. And now, I am getting problems running the video in Chrome too!

Did you use the exact software for exact media formats as described step-by-step in the manual?

Yes, I downloaded the Miro converter software to create the ogv and webm formats from my mp4 file.

What about the mp4 video? Did you re-encode it using HandBreak?

Yes, I used handbrake to create this mp4 and used web optimized.

It's weird about those other files. I can see them plain as day in the remote server view in Dreamweaver.

You can try REuploading them.

Yes, I did re-upload them. And, I even tried using a different ftp client (filezilla). I can clearly see that the files are on the server, but I can't get them to load in the browser either. This is Godaddy hosting. It's probably a mime type issue.

I give up. I'm just going to use youtube as the source and call it done. I thought it would actually be easy to run it directly from the website instead of from a 3rd party.
