have this problem
18 Sep 2014 05:56:28 David Woolley posted:
Whenever I launch DMXxone Extension Manager, this message pops up:
"No connection
Failed to retrieve data from server"

However it still updates properly, etc, but the message is persistent.
Thought I'd better let you know.

I have the latest version of course.

Dave

Hello David,
Are you behind a proxy or is there any antivirus/firewall enabled on your computer?

I use MS Security Essentials & Windows Firewall on Win7
I turned both of them off, but still get the message after doing this.
Not behind a proxy on this computer.

I'm having this problem again with v1.0.6
However if I restart my Windows 7 machine, then launch DMX Ext Man immediately, the problem goes away.
But that does not last! Eventually the error comes back. I can use the program though - the error message stays which is quite annoying.

Seems we have some connectivity issues with the DMXzone server.

Could you please try again? Just click OK on the "No Connection" dialog.
If still not working try restarting the DMXzone Extension Manager, by completely closing it - right click on the tray icon and then quit - then start it again.

Greetings,
George

Hi Alexander,

The connection problems should be solved. Try restarting the app fully and also make sure that no firewalls or antivirus programs are blocking the connections.

Our app connects via regular https connection to dmxzone.com so if you can connect to dmxzone.com in your browser it should be fine.

Try to connect to: www.dmxzone.com/api/em.asp
If you get a black page without any errors it should be fine.

Greetings,
George
