Extension Manager initially displaying random illegible text then would not quit unless forced to. I re-installed a new download and when it opens I get the error: "No Connection, Failed to retrieve data from the server. Try again?" Still nothing.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1 on a Mac Pro 2.93 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 16GB (early 2009 Mac Pro)

Thanks for any help, Bill

Kevan - could you please try again? Problem with "No Connection" should be solved now. It turned to be some stupid SSL certificate, missing issuer chain thing ...

weird - even if you try to click on the "No Connection" dialog on the OK couple of times?

No. I'm inclined to quit everything and restart the Mac (again). But I do need to crack on with some other stuff, so will have to continue later. Sorry.

Hi George,

after another restart I still have the No Connection problem, but can at least see the pane that disappeared earlier:

Thanks Kevan - that is the view I need!

Could you also make screenshots of the preview and response tabs - as well the full grid only (click on the X next to headers tab)

Thanks!

Thanks Kevan! Actually it was all very helpful!

I've made some changes on our live server, so let see if it solves your problem!

Could you try again? Make sure you restart DMXzone Extension Manager - ama maybe also delete the cache file as described in the begin of this topic at www.dmxzone.com/support/22670/topic/60395/?reply_id=177333#reply177333

So let me know how it goes after that.

You have being very helpful! Thanks for that - it is just such a unique case that happens only to specific people and we can not replicate our selves.

Greetings,
George

Oh dear. Did all the above, having restarted the mac, no change.

Grab here, both preview and response have no preview or response data available:

How much am I getting paid to help sort this out?

well I'm out of ideas - something is blocking your connectivity from your Mac.. you actually never make it to connect to DMXzone..

How are you connected to internet? Did you try at work and at home? Different connections?
Maybe try a different Mac or PC?

Or upgrade your Mac OS to the latest...

George, I was just thinking on the same lines, so I installed the extension manager on a MacBook Pro, on an ethernet connection to the same network as the MacPro, using the same internet connection... and it installed fine and seems to connect.

Unfortunately, this means there must be an issue withe the MacPro connection, and that is my main desktop computer.

There have been no significant upgrades or changes over the past few months, so I guess it's back to unpicking one thing at a time and seeing what happens.

Thanks for your time!

Maybe try upgrading to the latest OS - there were some connectivity issues Apple fixed lately.
Or plugin an Ethernet connection...

If you open the secure url www.dmxzone.com/api/em.asp in your browser.

Do you get a blank page but with green lock indicating a valid SSL certificate or do you get an error with wrong SSL certificate?
