Is it possible to make dynamic page with address filtered by query, for example site.com/123 instead of site.com/index.html?id=123 ? Or rather site.com/query-title

Should I use htaccess to achieve it and how? I'm not sure what code will work with this extension.

I want to share dynamic page link to users and want to make the address as friendly as possible for them to use.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Fridaus,
For now it is not possible to use url-rewrite with our extensions.

Yes, this will be available with the release of the app connect routing extension.

This is not currently in our high priority list.

I suspect that for those who want this feature - including anybody considering the DMX extensions (or Wappler) as a serious framework - this would be near the top of the priority list.

In the eight months since the issue was raised, most extensions which have been released have been relatively unimportant. I imagine that anybody who is familiar with editing htaccess files would also be capable of doing what most of the recent extensions offer - eg the image-related ones (masonry, lightbox), Google Maps and animations etc.. In some cases there are nice features, which are easy to use and may or may not be suitable for one's needs, but there are plenty of alternatives which can be implemented without great difficulty.

Where the DMX extensions can be very frustrating is where essential features are simply not available if you use Server/App Connect. Advanced SQL queries is something I raised long ago (before I started using the extensions, having been assured they would be available). I understand they are still on the way - at least in Wappler. If the 'routing extensions' are currently low priority, my fear is they won't be appear for many months/years (or perhaps ever). If there is any manual way of implementing this feature, an explanation/relevant code would be much appreciated.

For many people (both developers and website owners) 'friendly' URLs and SEO are far more important than yet another lightbox or slideshow .

Hi Tom,
Most of our users are not capable of hand coding and extensions like masonry, lightbox, charts, animations are far more important for them, than the url rewriting tools. Also, it is not easy to integrate 3rd party options for dynamic masonry, dynamic google maps, animations for repeat regions because of the App Connect specific components which need to be made - no user can do this "without great difficulty".

Both - the routing tool and advanced(nested) queries are coming to Wappler, which is a top priority for us at the moment.

And just for your info, it has been long time since the 'friendly' URLs are not really helping SEO ... Google nowadays check the content, the quality of the content and page titles and descriptions, not the links and it doesn't matter if your page has a link of /blog_post.php?id=1234 or /blog/title-of-blog.

And by the way, the advanced query builder is under development at the moment, so soon it will be available:

Hi Teodor

It is clear from many of the questions posted on the support forums that a proportion of your users are capable of hand-coding. Obviously you would have a better idea than me what that proportion is.

I'm glad these extensions are coming to Wappler, but sad if they're not coming to Dreamweaver (particularly as Wappler is not currently useable and Dreamweaver is).

In its SEO Starter guide, Google encourages the use of URLs such as /blog/title-of-blog rather than /blog_post.php?id=1234. I don't know to what extent this affects ranking.

The query builder screenshot looks great. However, I imagine it could be quite a while before th new extension can be used.

Wappler crowdfunding starts in 8 days and will presumably last for some time, and then I imagine there will be further/final development before it's released. It's a pity that there will be no corresponding DW develoment in the meantime.
