The Web Marketing Association, host of leading website awards competition WebAwards, released the Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the technology industry create more effective websites.

"Technology web sites have scored the highest in interactivity and design, but in past years, judges have shown they can do even better by getting innovative to stand out from the other sites and make the visitors remember them, even after they've left the site," said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association.

Google, Intel and Cable Companies Ponder Nationwide WiMAX JV

Three cable companies, as well as Google and Intel, are in talks with Sprint and Clearwire, the only two companies in the US committed to large-scale WiMAX rollouts, aiming at a new joint venture that would use WiMAX spectrum owned by Sprint and Clearwire for a nationwide network. The new project is funded by contributions from Google, Intel, Comcast, Bright House, and Time Warner. Read More

Adobe Photoshop Express Launched

Adobe released Adobe Photoshop Express, a Web-based version of Photoshop for editing pictures. It is in public beta and anyone can sign up.

"It is a showcase of what is the best that can be done with Flex and Flash. Hopefully, it will inspire other developers. We are also setting up a hosted services platform that we can expand to other products," said Doug Mack, the vice president in charge of Photoshop Express.
