Up until now, if you wanted to use Google Voice, you needed to choose a new number (a "Google number"). Taking calls through your Google number allows to offer features like call recording, call screening and getting text messages via email. Google Voice Thoroughly Banned From the iPhone

All Google Voice related apps were banned from the app store. Google Voice lets you do a lot of stuff for free  You can place free calls in the US, you can send and receive free SMS messages. The application is still in beta, invite only stage, but several cool applications that use the service already exist for the iPhone. Sean Kovacs, the developer of GV Mobile, has said on his site that Apple has rejected the application.

Bill Gates on Google's Chrome OS

In an interview for CNET News this week, Bill Gates said that there are many forms of Linux operating systems out there and packaged in different ways and booted in different ways. To him, Google's Chrome OS looks a lot like a familiar foe: Linux.
