Links are Appearing Absolute instead of Relative

In the template I am using, my menu item links look relative (../contact.html), but when I create a page from the template, the links become absolute (file:///C|/Users/Toolie/Documents/websites/gretchen-lawlor/contact.html>How do I fix this?
