Hello Colin,
Pure Upload is used as upload mechanism in AHE3. if you have it installed you can then set up the AHE to upload to a specified folder on your server Through the Pure Upload.
Once you set this you can then in AHE in Add Image dialog select an image on your machine and upload it to the specified folder on your server.
