Text vanishes in editor since version Version 3.4.1

Reported 14 Nov 2013 21:35:40
have this problem
14 Nov 2013 21:35:40 Adel MHARI posted:

I do not know why, but since version 3.4.1, when loading the HTML editor, the text disappears. To be more precise the html code appears briefly and then disappears but the text disappears too.

This issue is random, sometimes I refresh the page and the text appears in the editor.

I have actually updated only 2 sites with the newest version and both having this issue, all other with older versions are ok.

Hi Adel,

Very weird issue indeed. It happens to me only in Firefox. Seems there are some synchronization things going on ...

We will investigate.

I have this issue also (using the latest version) in Chrome and Safari. If I leave the page and then reload it the content appears correctly. The content is being loaded from a recordset in the database. It is only the content in the editor that is not being loaded, all other info from the recordset shows correctly.
The Editor works correctly in IE11.

The fix for this is too only have 1 editor on a page. The issue occurs when you have more than 1 editor on the page.

I've applied today version 3.5.2 but still the same bug in Firefox, chrome, Safari (Latest version all)
Works in IE (IE11 only tested) and Opera latest

Since 3 months I can't update extension because our CMS uses two instances for the editor.

Is somebody in Dmxzone working on this issue ? Have you got some ideas on what can cause this.

Best regards

I had to rewrite my CMS to accommodate this problem. You are describing it exactly right. The editor works in IE11, but not in chrome, firefox and safari when you have 2 or more editors on the same page.

Hi John

It's good to see that I'm not alone with this issue.

How about the other thousand users of AHE3, nobody uses 2 instances of the editor on the same page ?

George : Any news about your investigations ??

By the way is it possible to remove the "SOLVED" TAG of this issue ?

I also have this problem. I installed the 3.5.2 version, and now some customers have said that they lose the contents of the second form yet. This is very serious because it means that they lose the contents of entire pages. The problem occurs randomly. Need an urgent solution.

Hi Simone

I've downgraded AHE to version 3.3.4 after two of my clients lost half of the content of a page after updating it.

Be aware when downgrading AHE3 , you will loose Google Chrome compatibility, because since Chrome version 32 AHE3 doesn't work.

Completly agree with you. I already asked TWICE to remove the "Solved" tag, unfortunatly no answer at all, aswell to get an answer on their investigations ...

I'm actually preparing to switch to another html editor ... because enough is enough ... I'm tired fighting to make this extension work.
