Hi

I am trying to have a variable filter using Calendar 2, I can get it to work fine but unfortunately the initial page load will not ignore the initial date as set by the Calendar settings, even if this is blank. I want the full database to open initially and then the visitor to be able to limit the search to a date, the only way I can get this to work is to have a filter with >= and then of course I can limit further searches to a particular date. Have tried to do this with a date range but that does not help. I there a way to get the binder to ignore the initial date of the calendar? I have unticked the default "Req" flag.

Regards

Keith

Hello Keith,

Create a hidden field and make your data set to be filtered by it. Then set a behaviour in the calendar 2 to populate the hidden field upon date select.

Hi Miroslav

I have tried this but the page load is still blank if I have the filter to = the hidden calendar field, the filter works fine once the page I have loaded I can pick a date and the record will show. The initial load is still seeing a blank field so is not equal to anything, hence the return of no results.

Am I missing something?

Hello Keith,

Make sure that the filter is not set as required in the Filters tab of your data set definition.

Hi Miroslav

No I do not have there Req checkbox ticked, when I try other search criteria it does ignore the initial setting but with the calendar field it does seem to look at the field when it retrieves the initial data and places todays date. This was the same when filtering on the calendar field, it is seeing todays date and that is evident when I put a record to todays date it retrieves on page open.
