Having played with the original (free) bootstrap for a day or so, I just purchased bootstrap 3.

I have now uninstalled version 1

Are there any sample pages for version 3 I can add to dreamweaver ?

If I click on New Document->Page from Sample, there are no bootstrap files

Hello Craig,
Unfortunately there are no any sample files included with the Bootstrap 3 extension.

Shame that.

I suppose there's no way to convert version 1 to version 3 ?

Does v3 installation remove v1 automatically? ... or...
Is it even necessary to remove version Bootstrap v1 to install v3?
If v1 will no longer exist, could I use the samples to create a my own sample version of Bootstrap and then convert them to v3?

It didn't for me, so I removed it myself.

In order to get some practice, I downloaded the source files from getbootstrap.com/ put the examples in a folder, then changed the paths to the css and js, so they reflected the bootstrap extension installation folders

Bit long winded, but it worked ok, and I can use the examples as starting points

I assume, then that it is required to remove the previous version before installing Bootstrap v3?

Hello David, Craig,

Both of the extensions can run together in Dreamweaver, there is no need to uninstall Bootstrap 2 in order to install Bootstrap 3.
Even more - you can use them both on a same site

Ok, so I can use bootstrap 2 elements on a bootstrap 3 site (where I'm also using the current bootstrap 3 I just bought?

You can use them on a same site, but on the pages that you want to use elements, DMXZone Boostrap 2 should be inserted.

No problem, here’s what I did...

I went to getbootstrap.com/getting-started

I downloaded the source files
In the zip file, I extracted the examples folder (found in docs) to the root folder of my site.
I then opened up one of the example files.

eg examples/blog/index.html
On line 14, I changed the path of the bootstrap core css to that on my site
On line 168, I changed the path of the bootstrap min js to that on my site

Check the page to see if it looks ok
If all is well, do a find and replace on all instances of the file paths above (in your examples folder only)
put the modified pages on the server.

that’s it.

(you may also find some other example specific things you need to change, such as holder.js for the carousel and where you need an image placeholder, but examples are easy to find via google

Craig Rushforth: thanks so much for your recommendations. I downloaded the examples without any problems. Wish there were an examples section for input groups, but what is there will be very helpful.
