Is it normal for Bootstrap 3 to be so slow?

Have been using Bootstrap 3 on a current project but I am finding it painfully slow in all aspects of its features - even simply selecting some text is slow. The original Bootstrap is faster.

Have quit and restarted DW several times with no change. Working in another non Bootstrap project is normal

Any ideas please

Hello Bruce,

Does it feels like it reads the code of the page on each your action?

Regards.

Hey Miroslav,

It is a huge lag. Like a big pause and the Mac coloured spinning wheel spins sometimes .

I just started with the bootstrap 3 extensions yesterday and it's pretty slow to work with in Dreamweaver.

Hi Seve,
What exactly is "slow" when using Bootstrap 3?

Switching between code and design view, opening and saving seem much slower with pages that use bootstrap 3.

If it is slow when saving/opening, just disable the automatic file update option.

We use and depend on DMXzone Bootstrap 3 extension - very pleased with it. But it is like working with a computer dipped in molasses. We have an i3 laptop with 8 gigs of ram. Do we need to update to an i5 or i7 or is there another way to speed it up?

Hello HK,
Please go to Commands > DMXZone Bootstrap 3 Options and then just disable the automatic file update option.

Unfortunately the automatic file update box is already unchecked. Is there any other way to speed it up, hopefully?

Here is what Our designer says, using the newest dreamweaver CC:

"I work in design view, with dreamweaver showing the split view of both code view and design window. Previously, when I directly edit the code, dreamweaver usually will update what's in the design window in a second or two. But now I have to click on the properties tabs and click the refresh button and wait 6 to 12 seconds for the updates to appear, which throws off my work rythym. Also when I make an edit within the design window, I have to wait almost as long for the change to be made in the code view. Inserting images, adding styles, doing a simple cut and paste - all these things take longer than normal and I find myself sitting and waiting to the point of frustration."

Hello H K,
This does not seem to me like a problem caused by the extension. If the following option is turned off (please double check if it is):

Then there shouldn't be absolutely no problems...

Thanks. It is turned off. I wonder if a laptop faster than an i3 is needed to run CC2014 with this plugin. The plugin is amazing! Just slow.
