Bootstrap 3 grid dedicated floater does not show up for some pages of my website which is all built using Bootstrap 3. When I use "Convert to Bootstrap 3", it becomes available again. Am I correct to use this command? Is there a reason why the Bootstrap 3 grid disappears?

When you want to use the extension with a site that is built using Bootstrap 3 then you should fist point to your bootstrap CSS file(s) using the Commands > DMXZone Bootstrap 3 Options menu.

These pages were pointing to the Bootstrap CSS files and the extension's grid panel had been showing ... and then, for some reason, the Grid panel "floater" was no longer there. I tried using "Convert to Bootstrap 3" and that seemed to solve the problem... I guess that got everything pointing to the right files...

But my question is... what caused that disconnect in the first place. I would like to avoid this problem in the future.

I am not sure i understand what your issue exactly was. Was it:
1. The Bootstrap 3 Grid panel was not showing in your DW
or
2. The Bootsrarp 3 Grid panel was showing in your DW but was saying "Please open a page containing Bootstrap"
?
