For the past few weeks, we've been receiving tons of emails from people getting the following error message while installing DMXzone extensions in Dreamweaver CS+: "The extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 12 or greater". The reason why Adobe Extension Manager fails to install the extension is because Dreamweaver CS+ requires MXP file and not ZXP, which is for Dreamweaver CC only. More useful information on the subject you'll find below.
Update: A button for downloading MXP files is already available in your DMXzone account.
The Story
Adobe Extension Manager Error
When you try to install a ZXP file, which is the correct file format only for Dreamweaver CC, the Adobe Extension Manager pops up an error message that says: "The extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 12 or greater". In order to install any DMXzone extension in Dreamweaver CS3/4/5/5.5/6 you need to install an MXP file.
Note: Only Dreamweaver CS6 allows both ZXP and MXP formats to be installed in Adobe Extension Manager CS6!
Download extension ZXP file for Dreamweaver CC only
In your DMXzone account (1), under the Products Tab (2) there's a download ZXP button (3), which is the correct format for Adobe Extension Manager CS only.
Download extension MXP file for Dreamweaver CS+ only
In your DMXzone account (1), under the Products Tab (2) there's a download MXP button (3), which is the correct format for Adobe Extension Manager CC only.
