HI
I want to place a small square inside a bigger square and cut off the small square so I could end up with a big square with a hole in the center.

Can some one tell me how to do this using Fireworks 4?

thanks

Alex

Draw your 2 squares and center them hor/Vert. Choose both objects and then click "modify" - "Combine" - "Punch"

Done!

I don't know if there is a better way to do it but you can do it this way in fireworks 3.

1. Create large square
2. Create the small square in a different colour and position over the large square.
3. Select both images and then join them.
4. Select the wand tool and select the small square with it then hit delete.
5. This should leave you with the big square with a hole in it.

Hope this helps.
