Hi,

Im pretty new to FW. and want to build a layout on my main page that has like a frame around which will include a control panel etc.. which continues at the top and down the other side.

The question is do I build it in FW as one full page or do I creat the background in say 3 peices and if so will i have problems joining them together.

I have f/x & Design book which is very good and explains how to build the control panel but does not help me much in deciding how to manage the overall layout.. any ideas please?

I think I understand the question.

My advice is to start with a new Firworks file set to the size of the screen res you want the design to fit in(usually i work 760x440)

Then just construct your control panel as you want it to look on a webpage. Then use the slice tool to to help you cut up the large image. If you export the image and HTML and Images Fireworks will sort out the layout too, but I usually take the images from that and put them in my own table.

Hope this helps
