I have a website that has a news page.
There is an administration page to edit the news articles. I cannot get the login page to accept just the administrator, it will let everybody into it. Can anybody explain to me how to use the access level feature correctly, or point me to a tutorial.
Thanx in advance.

Basically the simple login behaviour just asks does this Username and Password exist in my Users table? If it does then let them in.

If you want to use access levels then all you need to do is ask does this Username and Password exist in my Users table? and does it have an access level of greater than X, if it does let them in!

(X is the required access level, it could be 1 for all users 2 for only admin etc) Your users table should have a field called access level containing the appropiate access level...1 for all users, 2 for admin or whatever.

Hi,
It's also handy to hide your admin url by using the "show region" command.

If you "the administrator" is ID1 in the DB then you can set the "show region" to only show the link if you are the person logged in, anyone else will just see a blank spot.

hope this helps also.

Aye you could do it that way but one wee drawback would be if you wanted to add any future administrators, youd have to hard code in the changes.
