Why I can't turn off the textures options ?

I'm new to Fireworks MX, I was trying to build a button using the marquee and linear radiant, but the texture option keeps on so everytime I try to paint inside the marquee it adds up the texture. How can I turn this option off.? Replies

next to the texture box is a little text box. Just write '0' into it and the texture should be gone.
