Either I am doing something wrong, or perhaps this cannot be done.

It is possbile to set a cookie with let's say a persons name on a site: www.site-one.com

And use that cookie on a different site: www.site-two.com

Both of the web sites are being hosted on different servers.

I was reading up on this only yesterday in Wrox's Beginning ASP and to answer your question, no you can't retrieve a cookie set by a site on one server from a site another server. I guess this is to stop unscrupulous persons attempting to access cookies on your machine that may contain info that you only intended for use by the site that set the cookie?
