Hi

After asking for advice on this group I have taken all the advice offered and the site is looking a lot better. I have now been checking the terms which people have been putting into the search engine and
it is clear that some parts of the site need to be more prominent.

My problem, as ever is getting as much text on the screen whilst retaining
use of images/graphics to prevent overload.

Some of the product categories which needed to be more accessible were

Scalextric Sets & Track
Hornby Train Sets
Thomas the Tank Range
Harry Potter Sets & Models
Gaugemaster Controllers

So I put links to these on the Left Hand Side underneath the Major
Manufacturers list. However you cant see these on the standard 1024 * 768
screen.

Now I need to add some more links to the header to more general parts of the
site like "Links", "Help", "On Order" (which lists items on order) and
"Delivery" which gives details of our delivery methods and practices.

Can anyone suggest a good way of incorporating these links with the least
disruption to the look and feel of the site? I have considered using a Drop
Down with the title "Quicklinks" but am not sure if thats the best bet.

I would love to hear some peoples ideas. Thanks

Richard

It's much better now. Few remarks:
1. Logo at the top-left should be a link to the home page (except on HP itself).
2. Fix "breadcrumbs". There (left side below menu) "Home >" text that doesn't have any usage.
3. Images and text in "Latest Major Releases" and "Top Bargains" are proportional. Either insert wider images or narrow the width of text.
4. "Latest Major Releases" and "Top Bargains" should be links to the pages with all releases and all bargains.
5. Images should have Alt Tags. It improves ranking in search engines.
6. Icons of credit card vendors should have links to their sites.

The point is to try to look at the page as normal visitor and try to guess what would they expect to see.
