I am trying to set up a remote site using Dreamweaver MX's built-in FTP client. What do I put in the "Host Directory" field?
Is this where I put my domain name? (this is probably a very simple question)
Thanks!

You can specify what is the default directory to open the ftp connection in by specifying the name here.
For example, if you have an htdocs folder you can specify that to open when you connect. Leaving it blank will connect you to the root of your domain. (as you would have normally using standard ftp.)

Thanks for the reply Bakerv!
Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you are saying. I don't know what a "htdocs" folder is?
Here is my URL where my website is located -->
home.attbi.com/~genehchung/football/home.html
If I want to FTP my files into my "home.attbi.com/~genehchung/football" directory, I should put this into the host directory field in Dreamweaver MX, correct? I have tried this, but when I press "test" I get an error message.
I might not be able to FTP to this type of web server. What do you think?

a "htdocs" folder is just a way some web hosts utilise the ftp space.
some use "www" or "http" directories, but simply put it is where you store the files you want showing online, you also get a "private" folder and usually a "logs" folder?
Have you FTP'd to this site before? Did you get any FTP login info when you signed up?
........
try leaving the directory blank or using a / to specify the main root.

Dave

Thanks!!
I left the field blank, and it worked! Sometimes the best answer is the easiest.
Thanks again bakerv and UltraDav!!
