Today while using Dreamweaver MX, I happened to have the Windows XP taskmanager open to the preformance tab. I noticed a swift little movement of
the mouse in Dreamweaver MX causes 100% CPU utilization! I am running a 1
Ghz Athlon with 256 mb of ram. Where it gets real bad is in code view when
selecting lines by clicking and holding on the line number and draging up
and down to select more than one line, even when you hold steady(the mouse
button must be depressed) the CPU stays at 100%! I did a few tests to make
sure that it wasn't just dreamweaver MX. Unfortunately(?), I found that only
Dreamweaver is doing this. I tried doing similar things in Internet Explorer
and Visual Studio .Net, all with no similar effects. So has anyone else
noticed this or can anyone verify that it is not just me?

I also get bad system hang up with DWMX.
I run a 1.6 Athlon with 384mb of ram, i will try what you did and see what happens.
Could be time to get Ultradev back out <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'm having the same problem on my system, I use Windows 2000 en plenty of hardware.
DWMX often hangs because DWMX uses about 90% CPU.
Anyone?

I have not noticed this yet, and mind you... I never uninstalled UDev4.
I run NT4 with config files on a server that's 300 Kilometers from me, so this causes an obvious slowdown. I always select code by placing cursor at the top, press SHIFT and just hit page down a few times (or the up-down arrows depending on the amount of code to select), works great.
I will also try this later.
