How do we make the list/menu so that depending on the category chosen, the page gets directed towards the corresponding page, like in macromedia exchange home page>>
dynamic.macromedia.com/bin/MM/exchange/main.jsp?product=dreamweaver

when you choose a category from the "browse extenstion" menu, it takes you to certain page.

And also, the pages I need to display by doing so,are also a detail page in a master-detail page set, will that cause any problem??
any tutorial or a site that can help me on this?

It's called a "Jump Menu" in UD - check the docs.

Only if you don't pass the necessary variable - look at the code for a link to a detail page & incorporate it into the "Jump Menu" code.
