I am building a news story editor in UltraDev 4 on PC using ASP & Access. Can anybody help me with filtering the text so that carriage returns (and any other relevant characters) are displayed correctly when returned from the database?

Would I have to de-filter it on the way out again. I'm really unsure as how to achieve this.

This is my first post to this forum, and as I went to the editor I was intrigued as to the use of 'Forum Code' and the use of the icons along the top.

This is the sort of thing I am looking to build. If anybody has any pointers and advice then I'd greatly appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Mark.

Mark,

I believe this might interest you:
www.udzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=578

Here's some tutorials on how to use it:

Updating articles:
www.udzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=742
inserting images:
www.udzone.com/showDetail.asp?TypeId=2&NewsId=2001

keep in mind that it only works in IE5+, preferably 5.5+, seeing how the UDzone CMS system, which is based on this extension if they haven't changed it since I last talked to Waldo, errors on my Workstation when i'm at work and that runs a special version developed for KPN by M$, although I tested the extension heavily at work and that doesn't error in the same browser...

I think you will love it although you might want to consider a SQL server or something similar backend if you intend on 100's or 1000's hits with dbase access a day, people might get Access too many connections errors and that doesn't look good in a browser.

With kind regards,
