Hi, Newbie to DW & UD. I am trying to insert an access data base into a UD webpage. Done it before in frontpage, but cant get it to work in DW or UD. Must be something basic wrong that I am no doing.I opened the page, click on insert tabular data, select Access data file. All that happens is that a table (table/border 1) is imported to webpage. No data.
I have tried this in both DW and UD same results.
Cant see table in DW and or UD.
Obviously lots to fix in UD, message is localhost/brattrack/TMP5641t4j98p.htm Cannot display page.
Using IE6 and Win98SE
Hope someone can help. regards Acepage

Dear Acepage,
To insert static data - Open Access, Go to File > Export, change Save as type to Text Files, save as whatever.tab or .csv, then Insert Tabular from UD and choose the file you just output.
Live data from Access is another process and is explained in the manual.
Regards,
Brent

Dear Brent, I am running Access97 and dont have the option to save database as a text file. Seem to be limited to Parodox, dbase, Foxpro, RTF, Masp, OBDC.
I notice that I can save to text in the Excell97 program and following your advice find I can transfer the spreadsheet files to the webpage as you suggested.
Checked the MS support site but they dont support access97 any more. Any suggestions on converting access97 to text file.
Many thanks for your help, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Regards Derrick

Dear Derrick,
I have never used Access 97, but did you try saving as RTF and importing?
Also, all the MS Access 97 stuff is still online at:
msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnacc97/html/acHTMLStatic.asp
This is a link to a sub-article, you'll see the hierarchy on the left.
