Does anyone know if it is possible to use the current user logged onto the network as the user ID for an ASP web application.

For example, let's say we have an ASP portal. Instead of having the person log in again (using the back end Access database), is it possible to script it in ASP to see the network logon ID and use that as the security token to access features of that portal?

Any help or directions to reading material/articles would be appreciated.

It is possible to do this as the snitz forum that this site is based on has that function (although it is not used in this case).

Click on the link at the bottom of this page to snitz and download the free pages. Look at how the site has been built and that should give you your answers....or alternatively hope someone on here actually knows!
