I'm using DWMX, and I've just purchased the Smart Image Processor.

Despite following the instructions, I keep getting this error.

Server.MapPath() error 'ASP 0172 : 80004005'

Invalid Path

/ScriptLibrary/incResizeAddOn.asp, line 296

The Path parameter for the MapPath method must be a virtual path. A physical path was used.

The rental server I use have the components necessary to run the extension e.g. ASP.NET (at www.flarehosting.com).

I'd be very grateful if someone can help me out of this mess... HELP!

Could you specify what is the upload path you used in the Pure ASp Upload - and what path did you specify on the Smart Image Processort extension?

Also with the Pure ASP Upload - do you store the filenames only or full path?

Following is the uploadpath I specified:

On Pure ASp Upload
"D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\progetti-inc.com\html\upload\"

And on the Smart Image Processor
D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\progetti-inc.com\html\upload
With Pure ASP Upload, 'store filenames only' is specified.

Looking forward to your reply.

So you specified the full physical path?

Why don't you just entered the virtual path like:

"Upload/"

You should select it with the browse button next to the upload folder entry field on the extension dialog.

George

I'm using the physical path because the website is located in a remote server. Moreover, the contents that display online are located in the 'html' folder of the '/' root folder. Which makes things a little more complicated (Would the virtual path be /html/upload/ or /upload/?).

In anycase, the physical path worked perfectly with the ASPUpload.

I've just been trying your suggestion with the virtual path. Now I don't get the error message anymore, and the images are being uploaded, BUT the images aren't being compressed at all. And there are no error signs.

Do you have any idea as to how this might be possible? Sorry for the trouble, but I really need this extension working ASAP.

Good to hear you got it solved - do you know what the problem was then?

About the physical/ virtual path - you can indeed have physical path on the upload extension - but the image resizer is for virtual only

How about the 300 dpi? did you solve that?

George
