Hello,

I am new into extension development and I wonder how you develop your extensions. I have 2 folders, the one I use to develop my extension and the one that MX uses to launch the extensions: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\Objects\Common for example.

My problem is that I would like to develop my extension faster. Actually I have to work on my extension, pack it, install it and try it with MX. I would like to develop it and automatically test it with MX, from my extension/project folder, not the MX one. I developed some plugins for Photoshop, 3DSMax... and I didn't have the problem because they all have a "plugin folders list". So there's always a "default" plugin/extension folder and a "working" plugin/extension one.

So please let me know the kind of solutions you have to quickly develop MX extensions.

Thanks.

Well I'm also using two different folders for this.

The most of the developing and extension making work I do directly in the Dreamweaver folder. When the extension is done I copy it to the other folder and pack it there in MXP

There was this good extension MXP Builder - from Paul Boon - but unfortunately it isn't MX compatible

hi George,

I tried "MXI File Creator Packager Extension" but It doesn't work anymore. It sounds like a powerful extension! I wonder why they don't provide the extension developers with some wizards to improve the dev workflow. It really... sucks <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

The only solution I came up with was to copy the file each time I change them, not packaging nor installing. Using a batch file can help... sometimes.

Thanks!
