I have just taken on a job that requires redesigning the content of existing page content into a new style & layout using styles sheets & style guides. There are in excess of 400 pages that have messy & archaic formatting & am overwhelmed with the amount of manual work required. Are there any shareware apps or methods that can remove current HTML formatting & apply new HTML formatting & style sheets, thus reducing the amount of manual work required?
If anyone has any suggestions on how this may be achieved it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Pumkin,
I don't know of such a tool, but I have some advice that comes straight from 3 Macromedia people, Vernon Viehe being one of them. If you want to use templates in DWMX and exceed 400 pages then you are advised to wait until the update arrives. Last I heard was before the end of the year :-/
One way to do what you are hired to do that wasbrought to my attention last week would be to use this extension by Rajan Datta which would still require you to paste the body of each page into a Dbase field and pasting them back from your browser into html documents and then do presentation when all pages are clean content.

Another way involves the sitewide search and replace, but you have to do this for each tag and can take a LONG time.
Either way it's a tedious job and I will ask around if anyone else has better ideas to do this sort of thing.
Command -> Clean up HTML can assist also, but it's not a sitewide option <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
I found another on this website: www.massimocorner.com
it is in the dreamweaver commands section and it is called "Tag Stripper 2.1", but i think it is also a page by page process <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Oh, I need to mail Massimo about that, it's great ! works sitewide as well and has an advanced tab to include specific document types.
Then I can mention also that his CFupload doesn't work.
