Probably the biggest problem that I have been having with Dreamweaver MX thus far is the inability to successfully use my ASP testing server (under the Applications tab, server behavior) when trying to upgrade an existing ASP site developed by previous versions of Dreamweaver. Basically, I follow the procedures for setting up the site (create new site, choose VBScript ASP website, both those checkmarks appear, but the checkmark for the testing server never appears and no error message results). As a result, I am unable to use all of the nice functionality of Dreamweaver MX in order to create dynamic web sites using drag & drop. Dreamweaver will not allow me to use the '+' button underneath the server behaviors and binding tabs in the Applications menu.

When I create a new site from scratch using Dreamweaver MX, this problem does not occur. The testing server setup goes smoothly and I can instantly start creating recordsets, etc. with a click of a button. In order to use the dynamic features of dreamweaver on previously existing ASP sites created by earlier versions of Dreamweaver, I have to resort back to version 4.

What am I doing wrong here? Am I missing some crucial step in order to "convert" pre-existing web sites to the MX standard? Everyone in my office has the same troubles, and we did not experience this with Dreamweaver 4. Any tips/resolutions at this point would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I too had this problem with MX so reverted back to Ultradev.

But when my Studio MX arrived i had no problems anymore.

It might be the web version got a bug in it? Check out the macromedia site and see if anything is listed up there.
