I can not get this extension to add the file name I am uploading to the DB field where it belongs.
I have no problem uploading a picture.
I have no problem adding or modifying records to my DB.
But when I combine the ASP upload with an insert new record or modify record nothing happens. I get neither a file uploaded nor a DB record added or modified
I get no error messages
I am not using a template page

Make sure you do not specify a redirect page in the Pure ASP Upload UI.

It doesn't matter if I specify a re-direct page in the UD add new record or in the ASP upload, nothing happens. (I have tried it both ways).
I browse for the file, find it, hit submit and the info in the browse field disappears, and the page refreshes itself -- it does not go to the redirect page and it does not upload the picture, nor does it insert the new record.

Was this problem resolved? If so, can you clue me in? (and why wasn't the solution, or something that could be tried added to the bottom of the forum for others who may have the problem?)... maybe he didn't email you his page like you asked? (i've also emailed this directly to Martha)

Yes the problem was solved --- I gave up trying and used the Charon ASP Upload at www.charon.co.uk/

Not only did it work the first time, every time, it was FREE

I'm still not sure what happened, ... the page was an "insert record" page that worked fine for months until I added the Pure aspUpload. But all is fine now, I scrapped the whole page, and built it over from scratch, added the pure aspUpload sb, and it worked beautifully. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue as to why it didn't work in the first place.

I couldn't figure out why it didn't work.
Martha got it to work and she sent me the page she was working on. I duplicated my DB and Connections to match hers and it worked for me -- once -- as soon as I changed the connections and the DB name to my original settings I got nothing.
I tried every thing I could think of -- built new pages, changed connection strings, built pages using the insert live objects, built pages hand coded nothing worked for me.
I know the posts rave about this extension, but from my perspective, I have to give it a 2 thumbs down. I haven't tried it since I began using the Charon ASP upload which works just fine.
I have to chalk this extension up to just another piece of "shelfware"
