Hello,

We have set up our web page in Dreamweaver with MS access data base as stated in directions.

Here's the problem, web server is Cobalt with Solaris Platform.

Everything I read regarding Chilisoft ASP & Access data base states that you need WinNT on server for the Access data base to work.

Can I use the Access Data base on this server?????

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance,

Chef

To the best of my knowledge, Access will not run on Solaris or any other Unix-type operating system, including Linux and FreeBSD.

It sounds like you'll need to find a Windows server to host your Access database - one running Windows IIS server on either Windows 2000 or NT. Or you could export the Access database as a comma delimited file and then import it into a database that can run on Solaris like MySQL, Postgres or Oracle. But finding a Windows server would be the easiest way to host an Access database website.

Thanks Wild,

After doing some research, it looks as though we'll be going the Mysql route.

It looks as though you can import access DB's to Mysql.
