I wonder if yo could help me. Someone advised to change my menu text to image files, to prevent someone veiwing them in *larger* text size in the browser and throwing the design out of whack. I did this and it looks fine. But now I'm worried about the rest of my content!! It hadn't occured to me that, of course, my body text would be affected by any size change...I have text in layers that looks totally incorrect when viewed in *larger* text. And it flows over other parts of the layout that it shouldn't! Is there a way around this...I can't have to change everything to images files, can I??

thanks

No...you should definately NOT do this.

Use tables with px values if you have got to keep them text as you want it.

Alternatively, work with trying to arrange your pages so that you can use or just plain text that expands.

I think if I used tables it probably would solve my text probs. The thing is I have been using layers alot because of overlaying text onto pictures...I have tried doing tables in my index page, and managed to get the text into tables (and it kinda worked..ish....fairly ish!!) but the image the text is overlayed onto can't go in the table. So if the text is changed it flows all over the image. It's driving me a bit nuts!!

This is the page before I worried about the text:
www.geocities.com/elliejaye/index.htm
this is the page after I've tried tables:
www.geocities.com/elliejaye/indexwithtextinmind.htm

(in the 2nd one there should be a coloured strip under the base menu text but for some reason it disappeared!)

Any thoughts anyone?? Or am I a lost cause!

Against all odds I thinks I've come up with a partial solution...or at least one that looks better in a larger text format. I've put the text in tables and added and merged them till they follow the rough outline of the image they are overlayed on. I've had to change the was it looks a little but I think the idea is still there.
