hello everyone this is my first post!I am rebuilding my old site starting new with dreamweaver mx.
never used dreamweaver before.
my question is: I want to make it look good in older browsers like I.E 4.01 ect.
the problem is it can't be downloaded anywhere.
is there a better solution? is there a site that you know that will display my site so it will imitate older browsers?
please help

The problem with IE is that you can only have one version installed on a computer, unless you have more than one boot partition, because then you can have another IE instance on the other boot partition.
So if you are already running IE6, then you can't have another IE version on that computer at the same time.
That isn't the case for other browsers like Netscape and Opera. You can have multiple versions of those browsers running happily next to each other on one computer.
You can find all versions of all browsers at: browsers.evolt.org/
Hope this helps.

Whenever I create my pages I assume they are using IE 5.0 or above or equivalent, its the only way to maintain my sanity when making very complex pages. If someone with an older browser wonders in, too bad for them, they should upgrade.
Anyway checking my statistics page I've realized that very very few people now, at least that enter my sites still use 4.0 or below.
Anyhow, DMX has a validate for "Target Browser Check" option so if you insist on making it oldschool compatible that should help you out.

I guess the reason I would like my site to be somewhat i.e 4 compatable is because I get many visiters from 3rd world countries.
could I put an older version of i.e on my second hard drive so it will work independently?
thanks
