Whenever I make an update on a page with a template, I get this error:

You have made changes to code that is not marked as editable. If you retain those changes, they will be lost the next time you apply a template update to this file. Do you want to retain the changes until then?

I'm using MX 6.1

Sounds like you havent set the editable regions on your template.

ie what you are editing is part of the template so it will not be retained the next time you load from template.

Try setting the editable regions on your template to include what you are trying to edit.
