i have no idea what to use for purchasing. i do know our server has agora as an option to install, but the set up language is over my head. any suggestions? is paypal an effective way to collect payment? your help is greatly appreciated.

The Agora.cgi is a simple shopping cart script - do you have a merchant account yet? If not, Paypal would probably be the most painless method for a newbie to start doing "e-commerce".
