after installing flash5 dw mx opens flash5 instead of flashmx.

Open DwMx go to Edit->Preferences,
In preferences, select FileTypes/Editors under catagories, chose extension .fla, make Flash Mx to be primary.

Yes this is suppose to work.
i try'd it, but nomatter what *.exe is selected, even if no editor is selected Dreamweaver launches f5.

In that case reinstall Flash Mx, this will associate .fla files with Flash Mx in Windows registry, or manually associate .fla by clicking Folder Options -> File Types -> Then select .fla click on "Change" in front of Opens with and do the needfull.

I will recommend to reinstall Flash Mx, if you are not expert in handling Windows settings.
