Thanks for your help with the download of zip file, but I hate to be a pest is that all i do as well if it is a word doc and I assume I upload the files that I am allowing to download from my site.cheers again for your help.

Basically, if the browser is unsure what to do with a file, it will open the download box, however if Word is installed on the client PC, it may open a word document in the browser or provide a download option depending on how the user has set that option.

Getting the Save dialog is a Windows issue, not a browser one.
(Though there are a couple workarounds, they are cumbersome and not cross-browser able.)
