I am helping someone out with their site and I need to download the files via ftp to my computer from the site. I have the ftp address and well as the id and password names, but I'm not sure what to do using Dreamweaver (4) to get the files. I need to make sure I don't screw up what's there so I'm rather nervous about it. I'm used to uploading not getting files, etc. I've never had to deal with an existing website. Can someone give me directions on what to do? Thanks! Replies

Don't worry u can't screw their existing site up if you don't move/delete or overwrite any of their files.
simply connect using the interface and you are presented with a local and remote system, select the files you want to GET from the remote system and click on the arrow pointing left in the middle column to stick them on your local machine.
Although i would recommend using a proper FTP program like WS FTP Pro, as the built-in ftp engines are quite naff.
