Hi all,

I am new to php mysql and webdesign as a whole. I have created the site www.avanteq.co.uk and am trying to create the page (www.avanteq.co.uk/currentops.htm) to be dynamically updatable. We have a web hosting page with clara.net and are reunning into difficulties connecting to the database I have created online with myphpAdmin.

I get the error 404, and have called clara.net, however they dont understand dreamweaver. I am trying to set up a remote connection to my database and seem to have all the right info.

really am in a mess can anyone start pointing me in the right direction???

can you give me some more details:

how are you connecting to the database? what host path are you using? how are you trying to connect? the fact that you're getting a 404 suggetsts you're trying to connect via HTTP?

got it sorted, wasn't accesing my root folder on my testing server.
