Renee I'm having the same problem! What dll are you using to resize the image? I've been able to use the dll supplied with the smartImage extension on another server but in my case I'm trying to make it work on another sever that only has the aspImage dll installed and they (interland) won't install any third party dll's. If you find a solution I would be most appreciative if you could let me know how you did it. I too am running behind with a project.
Thanks
Charles

Please use the detection page found at www.dmxzone.com/go?3984. This will check which components are installed and gives back errors that asp.net does create. Please report back if the detect is successfull or if it generates any error.

NOT FOUND: ASPJpeg Server Component
NOT FOUND: ASPImage Server Component
NOT FOUND: ASPSmartImage Server Component
NOT FOUND: ImgWriter Server Component
NOT FOUND: AspThumb Server Component
FOUND: ASP.NET Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP

Smart Image Processor can be fully used on this server!

on another of my servers it has ASPThumb and ASPJpeg Server Component as well, but it would not work

I went through the detection process - see the file here www.globalhomes.ie/detect.asp
And the results are FOUND: Smart Image Processor Own component
NOT FOUND: ASPJpeg Server Component
NOT FOUND: ASPImage Server Component
NOT FOUND: ASPSmartImage Server Component
NOT FOUND: ImgWriter Server Component
FOUND: AspThumb Server Component
FOUND: ASP.NET Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP.4.0
But still I cannot get this thing to work on this server.
What could be wrong? Large images are uploaded, but not resized, and thumbnails aren't created and arent written into database.

Are you using the auto-detect option for server component?
No redirect on the Pure ASP Upload?

Yes, I'm using the auto-detect option for server component. And yes, here is No redirect on the Pure ASP Upload.
Is this how it should be?

I can't upload either. I have ASP.NET on the server. I created a very basic page with a file input box and a submit button. I added the upload server behaviour and left the after "uploading goto" - blank. Then I added the smart image processor server behaviour. The upload works fine, but the resize and thumbnail creation are just not happening

I sorted out that problem by replacing my version 2.09 of ASP Upload with the latest version 2.14 from DMXzone.
www.dmxzone.com/go?1622
Now, the thumbnail is being created, but the record isnt being inserted into the database. Got this error when I tried it in Netscape
>>Microsoft VBScript runtime >>error '800a000d'
>>Type mismatch: 'LBound'
>>/SIPnew.asp, line 112
Does anybody know whats wrong now?<i></i>

I thought that may be it even though I only installed it last week and had version 2.1.3. So, I tried it with 2.1.4 - still no joy.

If I could choose ...

When you are getting the 'Lbound' error message it has to do with the insert record behavior not the Pure ASP Upload extension. Re-apply the insert record behavior.

Make sure you use the latest version of Pure ASP Upload 2.14

I still haven't overcome the Insert problem, even though I have installed version 2.15 of Pure ASP Upload. Would it make a difference if we were using the ASP.NET version of Pure ASP Upload?
